Ralph Pratt

Ralph E. Pratt, 88, of Carey, died Monday, July 10, 2017, at 11 p.m. at Birchaven Village, Findlay.

Born in rural Carey on Nov. 20, 1928, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Viola Mae (Tong) Pratt.

He married Rosemary Lonsway on April 22, 1950, at Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. She preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 2007.

Surviving are his three children, Ronald E. (Catherine) Pratt, Brighton, Mich.; Rita A. (William) Bernard, Tiffin; and Regina L. (Tim) Prindle, Carey; eight grandchildren, Rodney Pratt, Justin (Lata) Pratt, Sean (Emily) Pratt, Ashley Bowers, Andrea (fiance, Chris Smith) Bowers, Anthony (Chanelle) Fletcher, Brittany (Brant) Brooks and Lydia Prindle; seven great-grandchildren, Bryce, Emma, Noah, Reeve, Hudson and Tessa; and a step-great grandchild, Harper.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys L. Baker Lee.

He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey.

A 1946 graduate of Carey High School, Ralph was a lifelong Wyandot County farmer who truly believed “Nothing Runs Like a Deere.”

He was a member of the K of C #1925, Carey. He enjoyed bowling in different leagues in his earlier years, traveling to Amish country, occasionally hitting the casino, and cherished the trips he shared with his wife to Hawaii and Florida. Spending time with his family always made his day.

Visitation was held July 13 at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. A Christian wake service was held.

A mass of Christian burial was held July 14 at The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. Ray Mallett, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey.
