James Yonts Sr.

James Logan Yonts Sr., 31, of Bloomville, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born in Whitesburg, Ky., on Sept. 16, 1985.  He was the son of Steven R. Yonts Sr. and the late Betty Fern Pigg. His father and step-mother, Roberta (Aleshire) Yonts, reside in Carey. He married Ashley K. Collins on Dec. 12, 2015, in Bloomville. She resides in Bloomville.
Also surviving are three daughters, Alexis Yonts, Cadence Yonts and Hailey Yonts; a son, Jace Yonts, all at home; seven brothers, Jeff Sergent, Joe Pigman, Steven Yonts Jr., Jacob Burke, Johnathan Pigman and Cody Estep; six sisters, Tashawa Yonts, Tabitha Yonts, Kylie Estep, Tiffany Yonts, Amanda Pigg and Cheyenne Wyatt; maternal grandmother, Betty Russell; and paternal grandparents, Tommy and Tammie Yonts Sr.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Logan Yonts Jr.; three brothers, Tommy Yonts Jr., Christopher Sergent and Kenneth Bentley; and paternal grandmother, Glenda Collins.
He worked for Northern Roofers, Carey. He was a workaholic, tackling all the tough jobs. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most important to him was his loving wife and children.
Visitation was held Aug. 9 at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
The funeral service was held Aug. 10 at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Nunley officiating. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
