Barbara E. Puckett, 86, Carey, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at Birchaven Village, Findlay.
Born on Feb. 26, 1931, in Carey, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Opal (Eingle) Hill. She married John Harold Puckett on Feb. 10, 1948, in Maysville, Ky. He preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 2003.
Surviving are her two sons, Ralph “Ace” (Annie) Puckett, Carey, and John A. (Betty) Puckett, St. Mary’s; a son in-law, Duane McVay, Galloway; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four siblings, Marge Hill, Grove City; Christine (Bob) Nye, Carey; Carroll (Diane) Hill, Carey; and Connie (Fred) Patton, Rising Sun.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Patricia McVay; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Juanita Bore; and three brothers, Ike, Roger and George Hill.
Barbara will always be known as the last Post Mistress of Adrian. She had also worked at RCA in Findlay and Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky. She, along with her husband, owned the Carey Greenhouse for several years.
She loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics and toll painting.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m.-noon at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Her funeral service will be at noon on Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
