Hank Conley, 63, Atlanta, Ga., and formerly of Carey, died at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Northside Hospital of Atlanta, following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 9, 1953, in Upper Sandusky, he was the son of Bayless Conley, who preceded him in death. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Faye (Conley) and John Higginbotham. They preceded him in death. He married Gina Garrett and they divorced.
Surviving are his daughter, Holly Conley-McGrew of Upper Sandusky; a granddaughter, Taylor Phillips; a step-brother, John (Sara) Higginbotham Jr. of Shreveport, La.; five sisters, Diane (Larry) Trautwein of Carey, Connie (Clark) Phillips of Findlay, Betty Jo (Dennis) Troiano of Carey, Tina Twining-Begley of Findlay and Tammy (Warren) Tallent of Shelby, N.C.; 13 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Tara Mitsch.
Upon graduating from Carey High School in 1972, he joined and was a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Navy. He spent the next 11 years serving his country. He was currently the parts manager of Milner in Norcross, Ga.
Hank loved riding his motorcycle, which was evident through his memberships in the Lost Boys and Patriot Guard of Atlanta. He also loved his two four-legged companions, Cinnamon and Sage.
Friends were scheduled to be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Shultz officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Carey Honor Guard.
