George Lasley
George D. Lasley, 86, Findlay, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at 6 p.m. at The Heritage, Findlay.
Born on Oct. 11, 1931, in Carey, he was the son of the late David and Katherine (Hickle) Lasley.
George married Patricia A. Plott on Nov. 12, 1960, at Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. She survives in Findlay.
Also surviving are their five children, Dan Lasley, Columbus; Ron (Paula L.) Lasley, McComb; Brian (Paula J.) Lasley, Findlay; Steve Lasley, Findlay; and Rachel (Beau VanBibber) Speer, Findlay; 12 grandchildren, Luke, Angel, Josh (Brittany), Zac (Bethany), Bri, Victoria (Andrew), Mike, Joel, Gage, Eden, Lizzy and Macy; 5 great-grandchildren, Ben, Tommy, Liewyn, Miles and Max, and a brother, Leonard Lasley, Carey.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Lasley; and an infant sister, Adelma Lasley.
George worked at the former Swan Rubber, Carey, and retired from Whirlpool, Findlay, in 1996 after 28 years.
He was a 1949 graduate of Carey High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951-55. He kept his mind busy with crossword puzzles. He loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed watching the Buckeyes and bowled in several leagues in Findlay.
Friends and family were received on Sunday, Nov. 19, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
The funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home with the Rev. Karen Farr officiating. Burial followed in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with military graveside rites conducted by the Carey Honor Guard.
