John DeAmicis
John P. DeAmicis, Findlay, died at 3:49 p.m. on his 89th birthday, Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 at Birchaven Village, Findlay.
Born in Woodville on Nov. 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Bernardino and Angelina (DeAngelis) DeAmicis.
He married Helen Dyer on April 22, 1950. She preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2015.
He is survived by a daughter, Denise (Mark) May and a son, Greg (Annette) DeAmicis, both of Findlay; a daughter in-law, Cheryl (Mike) Lentz; five grandchildren, Joshua (Carrie) DeAmicis, Mark (Amy) DeAmicis, Bethany (Steve) Miller, Carolyn (Zach) Widman and Catherine (Shawn) Meyer, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul DeAmicis.
A 1946 graduate of Carey High School, he retired in 1988 as a draftsman for Cooper Tire Company, Findlay. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jenera.
John loved photography. It was his passion. He not only enjoyed taking pictures, he also repaired and refurbished antique and rare cameras. He enjoyed playing golf with his wife and loved going to camera shows and spending time with his grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Steve Edminston officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
