Helen Healey

Helen K. Healey, 93, of Carey, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
Born Jan. 28, 1924 in Findlay, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Butte) Strawbridge. She married Donald C. Healey on Sept. 18, 1943, in Zuma, Ariz. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (William) Savidge of Carey, Vicki (Jon) Oberhauser of Alvada, and Sandra (Alan) Applebaum of Farmington Hills, Mich.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, a sister-in-law, Roberta Healey of Fostoria; and two nieces, Sally Schultz and Mary Huddleman.
Preceding her in death was a brother, Doug Strawbridge.
A 1941 graduate of Findlay High School, she retired from RCA in Findlay after 25 years of service. She was a member of the DAV, American Legion Auxiliary #344 and Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, both in Carey.
Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed writing poetry, gardening and loved her dogs.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17,  at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Humane Society and sent to the funeral home.
