Gregory Patton

Gregory Patton, 71, of Carey, died at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, in the Kindred Hospice Center at St. Rita’s Mercy Hospital in Lima.
Born Jan. 31, 1946 in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Vincent and Marjorie (Gagnon) Patton. He married Linda Musgrave and they divorced. On May 12, 1978, he married Jean M. Weaver in Carey. Jean survives in Carey.
He is also survived by eight children, Regina (Steve) Mays and Gregory (Laurie) Patton, both of Delaware; Rachel Patton of Upper Sandusky; Richard (Ashley) Patton, Bob Patton, and Jackie (Greg) Anderson, all of Carey; Renee (Craig) Reinhart of Alvada; and Stacie (Brian) Noon of Carey; a nephew, Nathan (Holly) Patton, of Carey; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Michael Patton.
Greg retired from Budd Company in Carey. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era veteran, serving in Germany. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and turning wrenches. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. A scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25,  at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Weaver, OFM Conv, officiating. A military service conducted by the Carey Honor Guard will follow at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Carey Public Library and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 433316.
