Anna Brodman

Anna Lou Rae Brodman, 86, of Napoleon, died on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at Genacross Lutheran Services – Napoleon Campus. She was born on March 6, 1931, in Napoleon to the late George and Irene (Coan) Bliss. On June 26, 1949, she married Harvey Lulfs and they divorced. On Nov. 3, 1979, she married Leo “Bud” Brodman and he preceded her in death.
Anna worked at Arrow Molded Plastics for many years and after retirement she worked at Chief Supermarket in Napoleon as the “Cookie Lady” and handed out fresh baked cookies. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. She enjoyed gardening, polka dancing and traveling with Bud.
She is survived by her children, Kathryn (Don) Paschall of Defiance; Sandra (William) Miller of Defiance; Roger (Karen) Lulfs of Napoleon; and Harvey Lulfs (Robert “Bud” Waggoner) of Port Clinton; step-children, Sister Joann Brodman of St. Joe, Ark.;  Robert (Peggy) Brodman of Carey; Charles (Teresa) Brodman of Carey; Karen (Dan) Gerschutz of Carey; Glenna (Art) McGrain of Findlay; Marilyn Zender of Carey; Jean (John) Schumm of Tiffin; Alice (Bill) Sowers of Sycamore; and Patrick (Tina) Brodman of Carey; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Ronald (Donna) Bliss of Wauseon.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn, Paul, Allen and Richard Bliss.
Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 29, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Salem – Saint Joseph Cemetery in Carey.
