Sue Eingle

Sue Eingle, 83, of Carey, died at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.
Born March 15, 1934 in Hickesville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude (Miller) Mapes. She married Gene G. Eingle on Dec. 21, 1952, at Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. Gene survives in Carey. She is also survived by three children, Michael (Brenda) Eingle of Woodland, Tenn.; Melissa Ward of Portland, Ore.; and Mark (Leslie) Eingle of Sycamore; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mapes; and a sister, Jackie Westall.
Sue graduated from Carey High School in 1952 and attended modeling school in Cleveland. She was a professional model for several department stores in Cleveland while Gene served in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning to Carey, she worked as a secretary for Dr. Barkley and Blanchard Valley Hospital, both in Findlay. Following her love of fashion, she worked at Jacob’s Clothing in Carey. Not ready to retire, she and Gene owned a craft store, Country Squire, in Carey for several years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Carey.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey on Monday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. There will not be a visitation or service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
