Ruth Tooman

Ruth E. Tooman, 76, of Carey, died at 4:42 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Blanchard Valley Hospital Emergency Room in Findlay.
Born July 5, 1941, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence Mae (Saltzman) McCormick. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Bartlett Salyer.
She married Kenneth E. Tooman in Vanlue on Aug. 22, 1964, and he survives near Carey.
Ruth is survived by three children, Beth A. Tooman, Dennis W. Tooman and Timothy N. (Teresa) Tooman, all of Carey; four grandchildren, Austin, Cheyenne, Jerame and Daniel; and a step-brother, Jerry Salyer of Carey.
Ruth graduated from Vanlue High School and Davis Business College. She worked and retired from Budd Company in Carey, where she worked in the payroll department. She and her husband owned and operated the Vanlue Marathon Station for eight years.
She enjoyed gardening and tending to her many pets. Her passion was her children and grandchildren. She absolutely loved the time shared with them throughout her life.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Alvada.
