Jerry Orians

Jerry L. Orians, 79, of Findlay, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, surrounded by his family.      He was born in Carey on Jan. 11, 1939, to the late Arlis J. and Fern M. (Wagner) Orians. Jerry married Beatrice Chapman and they later divorced. He then married Georgia F. Thompson on Aug. 6, 1977, and she survives.
Also surviving are his five children, Lance Orians and Shelley Orians, both of Findlay; Todd Orians of North Baltimore; Dr. Mark (Suzanne) Kirk of Findlay; and Kelli Orians of Columbus. He is also survived by brothers, Lyle Orians and Dwight (Virginia) Orians of Carey; Rex (Nancy) Orians of Findlay; Keith (Lynda) Orians of North Baltimore;
sisters, Leah Hipsher of Fostoria; Patricia (Richard) Snook of Carey;
Nondus (Terry) Doe of Findlay; Donita (Coy) Druckemiller of Carey; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Orians, Lacie (Andrew) Decker, Madison Kirk, Joshua Orians, Morgan Kirk; and five great-grandchildren, Aveon, Makiah, Dane, Braelyn and Harper.
He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Orians; sisters, Jane Ann Orians and Lorinda Luzander; brother Dennis Orians; and sister-in-law, Joyce Orians.
Jerry was a member of the Carey Eagles, Findlay AMVETS Post 21, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #75 and Bob’s Countryside Golf Club. He was an avid Carey Blue Devil’s, Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan. Jerry was affiliated with the College First Church of God. He worked for 33 years at Whirlpool Corporation before retiring. Jerry especially enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 6, from 1-3 p.m. at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, and one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Reist officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
