Ronald Collet

Ronald J. Collet, 70, of Carey, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 6:02 p.m. surrounded by his family at the O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Findlay, on Nov. 3, 1947, son of the late Isidore and Rose M. (Miller) Collet.
He is survived by four siblings, Joseph A. Collet, Carey; Pauline R. Reinhart, Tiffin; Dennis J. (Jennifer) Collet, Carey; and Ann S. Yost, Carey.
Ron was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane LaRoche; a brother, Paul Collet; a sister-in-law, Nancy Collet; and a brother-in-law, Paul Reinhart.
He was a 1965 graduate of Carey High School. He earned a bachelors degree in accounting from Tiffin University.
Ron was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and the K of C #1925.
Ron had worked in the office at Fleckner Meat Packing in Fostoria. He was the manager of Poverello Credit Union for many years, retiring in 2012. He played a big part in moving the credit union from the school to its present location.
He was an avid card player, especially euchre. He was very meticulous about his lawn and vehicle.
There will be no visitation at Ron’s request. However, the family would like to invite everyone to join them for a time of fellowship and reflection at the Shrine Cafeteria following burial.
Mass will be held Tuesday, May 29, at 11 a.m., at the original Shrine Church, Carey, with the Rev. Vince Petersen, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Carey Food Pantry or Our Lady of Consolation School and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316-1169.
