Lorena Emerine
Lorena A. Emerine, 78, of Fostoria, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at her home, following a courageous and gracious extended battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born June 9, 1940, in Republic, to the late John P. and Helen M. (Fox) Roth. She married Norman R. Emerine on Feb. 11, 1961, at Reed Assumption Catholic Church, Reedtown, and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are five children, Kenneth (Mary) Emerine, Woodville; Elaine (Scott George) Weaver, Carey; Doris (David) Corey, Findlay; Nancy (Patrick) McCauley, Findlay; and Daniel (Sherry) Emerine, Findlay; grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicholas, Joseph, Jacob, Timmothy and Christopher Emerine, Zachary, Audrey, Elizabeth and Emily Weaver, Morgan and Austin Corey, Casey and Brendan McCauley; brothers and sisters, Victor (Ann) Roth, Republic; Rita (Rich) Blum, Willard; Raymond (Margie) Roth, Republic; Richard (Sue) Roth, Attica; and Donna (Dennis) Enders, Attica.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Emerine (1968); granddaughter, Shelby Emerine (1997); and a sister, Kathleen Studer (2014).
Lorena attended high school at St. Francis Convent and was a 1958 graduate of Attica High School, Upholstery Trade School and studied floral design at Tri-Rivers Career Center. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her work as an upholsterer, seamstress and tailor as owner and operator of Emerine Upholstery and the Betsy Ross Shoppe in Fostoria. She loved to crochet and was an avid quilt maker. She was a religious education teacher and a eucharistic minister for many years at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. Her love for her faith, family and craft can be seen and felt by all who knew her.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Hoening and Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria, where a Christian wake service and rosary will be prayed at 7:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery. A luncheon will then take place at St. Wendelin Parish Hall.
