Janice Hill

Janice B. Hill, 80, formerly of Adrian, died at 6:35 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Fox Run Manor in Findlay.
Born March 24, 1938, in Carey, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Gladys (Yingling) Bakies. She married Franklin D. “Ike” Hill on April 28, 1956. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1984.
Surviving are three sons, Timothy R. Hill and Rodney E. (Lin) Hill, both of Carey, and Kyle Hill of Adrian; 18 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a son, Terry L. Hill; a daughter, Jennifer L. McMillan; five brothers, Francis, Bill, Donald “Bud”, Jack and Dick Bakies, and three sisters, Rita Veres, Pauline Kitzler and Marguerite “Tiny” Jacob.
Janice was a homemaker and worked at Riegel Foods in New Riegel for several years. She retired in 2003 from The Budd Company in Carey. She was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Women of New Riegel Moose Lodge 872 and life member of VFW Post 3759 Auxiliary in Carey. She truly enjoyed playing Bingo.
A heartfelt thanks to Kathy “Mickey” Smith for all the time spent reminiscing with Mom over the last year.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Council on Aging or Our Lady of Consolation School and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
