Norma Strahm

Norma Jean Strahm, 93, formerly of Carey, died Friday, July 27, 2018, at 4 a.m. at Birchaven Village, Findlay.
Born in Carey on Jan. 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James and Gladys (Hunter) Gibson.
She and Leland “Porky” Strahm were married on April 8, 1945, in Westerville, by the Rev. Donald Cryer. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2010.
She is survived by three children, Debra Arnold, Vanlue; Denis Strahm, Carey; and Douglas (Angela) Strahm, Vanlue; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert “Jeep” (Alene) Gibson, Carey; and a sister, Joyce (Jack) Picou, Bucyrus.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Nadine Gibson, Reid Gibson and Marilyn Nash; and a son-in-law, Donavon Arnold.
Norma was a 1943 graduate of Carey High School. She was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society.
She was a life member of the VFW #3759, Eagles Auxiliary #2198 and American Legion Auxiliary #344. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid golfer and bowler. She loved spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31, from 4-8 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Kin officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
