Frank Kitzler
Frank David Kitzler, 72, of Carey, went to be with his Lord at 10:17 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born in Carey on Nov. 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Edith L. (Greeno) Kitzler. He married Kathleen “Kay” Ritter on Jan. 16, 1965, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. She survives in Carey.
Surviving are six children, Dawn (David) Lykins of Sycamore; Heidi (Terry A.) Nordyke, Chad (Julie Mele) Kitzler, Stacy (Jerry) Loper Jr., Brook (Chad) Nordyke, and Cory (Brittany) Kitzler, all of Carey; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Lucille (Dallas Risner) Cramer of Findlay; Roberta (Ronald Nye) Marshall of Alvada; Chuck Kitzler of Carey; Terry (Julia) Kitzler of Carey; Ed (Phyllis) Kitzler of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Kim Badertscher of Bluffton; and Bill (Tonya) Kitzler of Carey.
Preceding him in death were a sister, Gloria Marshall; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Kitzler.
A 1964 graduate of Carey High School, Frank was the owner of Cutting Edge Construction until his retirement in 2008. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the American Legion 344 and Eagles Aerie 2198 both in Carey. Frank loved The Ohio State Buckeyes and Tiger Woods, through wins and losses, his faithfulness was unshakable.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. Vince Petersen, OFM Conv., officiating. A gathering of friends and family will take place following the service until 8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.

Frank was my childhood friend, we grow up together, played and laugh, I try to persuade him to join the Navy with me on Buddy plan..But kay had his heart and it worked out for the best ! he has many friends and I was lucky to have him has a loyal friend to me over the years. Frank left behind a large family, and they loved him! May he rest in peace!
Thank you Mr. Windau for sharing your memories of our Dad that we didn’t know. We certainly can’t imagine him wanting to join the Navy. Mom had his heart at an early age and they have spent 53 years at each other’s side making some wonderful memories for all of us. He will be greatly missed.
