Renaldi Conti

Renaldi J. Conti, 81, of Carey, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at Birchaven Assisted Living, Findlay.
Born on Aug. 26, 1936 in Diriamba, Nicaragua C.A., he was the son of the late Roberto J. and Nila (Rappaccioli) Conti.
Renaldi married Mary F. Gutmann on Sept. 26, 1959, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbus. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2015.
Surviving are his three children, Anna-Maria (Mark) Gessner, Westerville; Marcus J. (Wendy) Conti, Tiffin; and Ray E. Conti, Carey; six grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsey), Kiley (Kaitlyn), Kelsie, Erin, Addison and Bryce; three great-grandchildren, Griffin, Bishop and Matthew; two sisters, Lucia (Conti) Fernandez, Guatemala; and Auxiliadora (Conti) Ramirez, New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roberto J. Conti; and three sisters, Nina (Conti) Rodriquez; Miriam Y. Conti; and Silvia E. (Conti) Lacayo.
He attended International School of Agriculture in Rivas, Nicaragua, Colegio Centro America in Granada, Nicaragua, The Ohio State University in Columbus, and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Renaldi retired as Manager of Crop Production Services, Inc. He worked over 45 years in the agriculture fertilizer business. He received the Seneca County Agricultural Hall of Recognition award. He was a honorary member of Carey FFA.
He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers. He enjoyed doing yard work, repairing bicycles and driving the countryside checking out crops and talking to the farmers. He loved watching his grandkids in their extracurricular activities and spending time with his family.
He was a member of K of C #1925, New Riegel Moose and the VFW #3759 and American Legion #344 Aux, both in Carey.
He was a member of The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation where he helped with Bingo and the parish festival.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, from 4-8 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, with a scripture service at 7:45 p.m.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. at The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. Vince Petersen OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey.
