Barbara Pieracini

Barbara R. Pieracini, 81, of Carey, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.
Born April 23, 1937, in Bradner, she was the daughter of Roy V. and Myrtle Mae (Helck) Plott. She married Floyd “Punk” Pieracini on Aug. 25, 1956, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, by the Rev. Theodore Eickholtz. Barbara’s goal was to make it to their 62nd anniversary. She made it.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Ed Pieracini of Findlay; a daughter, Terrie (Greg) Draper of Carey; eight grandchildren, Trisha Pieracini, Travis Williams, Cassandra Pieracini, Heidi (Scott) Thiel, Josh Pieracini, Emily (John) Beckley, Megan (Aaron) Depinet and Jay (Liz) Hahler; and 16 great-grandchildren, Taylor Lake, Destini and Skyler Williams; Carter, Jaxson and Sawyer Williams; Elijah and Gabrielle Blanton; Chayce, Logan, Gaige and Hayleigh Thiel; Gwen and Myah Beckley; Luke Depinet and Amelia “Mia” Hahler.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Angie Pieracini; seven brothers, Delmar, Dale, Raymond, Calvin, Roy A., Stanley and infant twin, Robert; and five sisters, Mary Billock, Dorothy Mattox, Evelyn Coppler, Irene Baker and Doris Thom.
Barbara graduated from Carey High School in 1955. She was a four year varsity cheerleader and Carey High School’s first homecoming queen in the fall of 1954.
She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Consolation Church in Carey.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey.
In lieu of stones, throws and chimes, memorial contributions may be given to the Carey High School cheerleaders or Our Lady of Consolation School and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
