Sandra Coppler

Sandra D. Coppler, 80, of Carey, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at 5:25 a.m. at The Inn at Westbrook, Upper Sandusky.
Born in Carey, on March 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Venda (Wentling) Hill.
She married Harold Coppler on June 23, 1956, in Toledo Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2015.
Surviving are their three children, Alesta (Ron) Altvater, Carey; Denice (Chris) Myers, Carey; and Matthew Coppler, Southgate, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Jon (Samantha) Hanna and Eric (Emily) Hanna; Danielle (Tim) Butram and Lauren (Adam) Jenne; Bethny Brown, Catriona and Quentin Coppler; six great-grandchildren, Trystan, Riley, Danika, Colton, Jory and Colet; two siblings, Jan (Mary) Hill, Hillsdale, Mich.; and Elsie Dick, Fremont; and a sister-in-law, Irma Hill, Carey.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd “Wayne” Hill, Donald Hill and Jon Hill and three sisters, Betty Gibson, Judy Shumaker and Dorothy Lou Hill.
Sandra retired as the administrative assistant at Wyandot County Council on Aging in Upper Sandusky after 30 years of service, where she was the very first and longest tenured employee. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carey.
Sandra enjoyed gardening, music and was a published poet. She was an avid Carey Blue Devil and OSU Buckeyes fan.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carey with the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will be private at a later date at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church or Wyandot County Council on Aging and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316-1169.
