Mary Hayden

Mary L. Hayden, 91, of Carey, died at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.
Born Feb. 12, 1927 in Wyandot County, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Dora (Dill) Jacques. She married Willard Lee Hayden on Sept. 2, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1991.
Surviving are her children, Sheila (Terrence) Erford of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Gary (Valli) Hayden of Carey; three grandchildren, Cherri (Stanley) Turbeville, Rob (Candace) Erford and Amy Harshman; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Allison and Betty (Robert) Walker, both of Carey.
Her son, Robert Hayden, preceded her in death, as well as five brothers, David, Charles, John, George and Bernie Jacques; and four sisters, Delores Higginbotham, Cora Lee, Hazel Pickens and Darlene Tucker.
She retired from Findlay Industries in Findlay after 30 years.
Mary enjoyed reading, working puzzles and listening to old time country music. She loved her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received 10 a.m.-noon on Friday, Dec. 14, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. The funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home, with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
