Helen Wentz
Helen L. Wentz, 76, Carey, died at 2:08 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.
Born July 8, 1942, in Wyandot County, she was the daughter of Harry and Beulah (Ritter) Feasel. She was raised by her mother and the man she called “daddy,” Charles T. Parsons Sr. She married Rollin D. Wentz and they were divorced.
Surviving are five children, Tammy (Jamie) Craig of Carey, Pam Case of Carey, Tina (Darin Olmstead) Wentz of Upper Sandusky, Elizabeth (James Mullins) Wentz of Galion and Michael (Robbin) Wentz of Findlay; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Betty (Dick) Funkhouser and Bill (Sharon) Feasel, both of Vanlue, Peg (Robert) Drummond of Mt. Blanchard, Tom (Karen Westrick) Parsons of Findlay, Dan (Bonnie) Parsons of Mt. Cory and Stephanie Simon of Findlay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. Parsons Sr., a great-granddaughter, Gracee May Carmen and a niece, Melinda Sue Parsons.
A 1960 graduate of Carey High School, she worked at Saum’s Meats in Carey for many years. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Carey.
Helen loved watching her grandchildren participate in various high school sports. She enjoyed playing bingo and hitting the casinos. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carey Food Pantry and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
