Leura Riedel

Leura Riedel, 86, of Cody, Wyo., passed away Feb. 15, 2019, at West Park Long Term Care Center.
Leura was born in Mt. Cory, on Feb. 20, 1932, to Oren and Carrie (Gobrecht) Bibler. She met Harvey Riedel Jr. in Sycamore, and they married in Oct. 1950.
They moved with their three sons to Cody in May 1965 after Harvey had been to Wyoming hunting with a friend in 1963, and again with Leura in 1964. Leura worked for 23 years at Key Bank and sang for many years with the Cody Country chapter of Sweet Adelines, with whom she participated in competitions and even sang at Carnegie Hall. With the quartet “Keepin’ Time” she sang the national anthem at Colorado Rockies and Denver Nuggets games. Leura traveled to France to visit family there, and to Hawaii, Austria and Egypt with her singing friends.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry of Cody, Wyo.; Tom (Steve Bowley) of Denver, Colo.; Steve (Edith) of Aurora, Colo., granddaughter, Allison; great-granddaughter, Madelyn; and brothers, Charles and David Bibler.
Leura was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Bibler; sisters, Beatrice Durenberger and Margaret Cole; and her husband, Harvey.
A memorial service will be held at Cody Presbyterian Church in Cody, Wyo., on Saturday, March 2, at 10 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service. ​
