Joan M. Parker, 89, formerly of McCutchenville, died at 5:15 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2019, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria. She was born on Jan. 12, 1930, in Tiffin, to Raymond and Hilda (Foos) Phillips. She married Richard Parker on Dec. 1, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he passed away on Feb. 16, 2013.
Surviving are the following children, Gary (Susan) Parker, rural McCutchenville; Janet (Ray) Wagner, rural Tiffin; and Joe (Denise) Parker, rural McCutchenville. Also surviving are six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother, Richard (Barb) Phillips, Cincinnati. Joan was preceded in death by a son, Dan Parker, on Oct. 1, 1999, and one brother, James Phillips, besides her parents.
Joan was a retired secretary for Parker’s Painting in McCutchenville. She was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel, former member of St. Nicholas Rosary Altar Society, Frenchtown, was a 1948 graduate of Calvert High School, was a former member of the McCutchenville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and for many years ran the concession stand at the McCutchenville Ballfield. She also bowled for many years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, from 5-8 p.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, and an hour prior to funeral services March 28. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Parish, Frenchtown Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Kummerer officiating. Burial will follow at McCutchenville Cemetery.
