Bernice Thome
Bernice Mae Keller Thome, 90, of Carey, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Birchaven Village in Findlay.
She was born April 8, 1929, in Carey, to the late Harry B. and Cora A. (Snyder) Keller. She married Calvin Thome in June of 1951. Calvin survives in Findlay. Also surviving are her children, Barbara Thome and David Thome both of Carey. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Laura Dunn and Martha Jane Krout and three brothers, William Keller, Edgar (Ezz) Keller and Donald Keller.
Bernice was a 1947 graduate of Carey High School. She was a life member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carey, where she was active with Mary Martha class. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and S.N.G. Club.
She worked for Dr. E.C. Collins, DDS, and Dr. T.R. Huston, MD, as an assistant and receptionist. She had also worked in retail sales for the May department store and as a trimmer at Swan Rubber Corp.
Bernice was an outstanding homemaker, mother and wife. She will forever be remembered as a happy, smiling, lovable person who liked people.
Always a giving person, Bernice has donated her body to Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton for training and research.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Bernice at a later date.
