Evelyn Krupp
Evelyn “Evie” Ann Krupp, 92, of Carey, died at 11:34 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, surrounded by family.
Born March 23, 1927, in Fostoria, she was the daughter of Domonic and Rosa (Kinn) Frankart. She married Dean A. Krupp on Aug. 28, 1948, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. Dean preceded her in death on July 4, 2014. As Dean’s health began to fail, she gave of herself to care for her husband of 66 years.
Surviving are her children, Tom and his wife Sharon (Schreiner) Krupp of Fostoria; David and his wife Cheryl (Sheldon) Krupp of Acworth, Ga.; Terry and his wife Cathy (Schreiner) of Fostoria; Sandy Frailey of Clyde; Debora and her husband Don Kayle of Kissimmee, Fla.; and Robert and his wife Julie (Berry) Krupp of Bluffton; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a sister, Carolyn Baker of Fostoria.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, Norma Russell, Edna Rosendale and Margaret Faeth; five brothers, Raymond, Harold, Arthur, Herman and Charles Frankart; and a son-in-law, Dennis Frailey.
A 1945 graduate of St. Wendelin Catholic High School, Evie partnered with her husband on the family farm and took great pride in raising her children. She enjoyed making angel food cakes, gardening, playing cards and tile rummy.
A woman of faith, she was an active member of Our Lady of Consolation Church in Carey, where she served as a eucharistic minister. She volunteered as a member of the March of Dimes and was a past president of the Wyandot County Birth Defects and past member of the M.S. Board. She was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, from 2-6 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, May 13, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, with the Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Carey.
In the spirit of Evie’s generous and giving nature, in lieu of flowers or memorial gift items, the family requests memorial contributions be given to Franciscan Missions, OLC School or Carey Food Pantry and be sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
