Irene Fletcher
Irene Faye Fletcher, 88, of Findlay, died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
Born on April 23, 1931, in Fostoria, she was the daughter of the late Emma (Donalds) and Edwin Pratt Sr.
She married Ronald Reid Gibson and they divorced. She married Perry P. Fletcher on Oct. 21, 2000, in Upper Sandusky. He survives in Findlay.
Also surviving are two sons, Keith E. (Dawn Miller) Gibson, Oak Harbor, and James E. (Deborah) Gibson, Plymouth; three step-children, Sheila (Mike) Turman, Colorado Springs, Colo., Perry Fletcher Jr., Arcadia, and Mark C. (Laurie) Fletcher, Carey; a daughter-in-law, Linda Gibson; a step-daughter-in-law, Linda Fletcher, Carey; a sister, Patricia Babb, Long Key, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Steve Higginbotham, Christopher Gibson, James Roberts, John Roberts, Paige Fletcher, Tiffany Saltzman, Danielle Gibson, Austin Fletcher, Taylor Fletcher, Anthony Fletcher and Chase Fletcher, 21 great and great-great-grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by a son, Duane K. Gibson, a step-son, Kevin Fletcher and four siblings, Gene Filliater, Dorothy Crates, Arthur “Ernie” Pratt and Edwin Pratt Jr.
Irene was a 1949 graduate of Carey High School and she attended Tiffin Business College for a year. She retired from Westinghouse and later worked as a teller at Commercial Savings Bank and as a secretary at McCarthy Quarry, all in Upper Sandusky.
She attended St. Andrews Methodist Church in Findlay.
She was a former member of the American Legion, VFW and Eagles Aeries and was an active member of The Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, photography, dancing and traveling. She loved her family.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cathy Davis officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey.
