Leonard Adkins

Leonard B. “L.B.” Adkins, 84, of Upper Sandusky, died on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky. He was born on Dec. 30, 1934, in Renick, W.Va., to Leonard and Louella (Clemons) Adkins. L.B. married Ileene Van Horn on Nov. 29, 1957, in Angola, Ind., and she preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 2011.
Surviving is a step-daughter, Wilma (Linus) Billock of Carey; step-son, Ray (Mary) Barney of Carey; five grandchildren, Paula Billock, Pam Smith, Theresa Barney, Kristy Barney and Tim Barney; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Barney, Scott Smith, David Smith and Patel Smith; brother, Tivis “T.B.” Adkins; sisters, Wanda (Roy) Monroe and Freda Adkins; and half-brother, Everett Kidwell.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Adkins and Robert Adkins.
L.B. graduated in 1953 from Rainelle High School in West Virginia.  He was a retired truck driver. For hobbies he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and gardening. One of L.B.’s joys during Christmas was to make holiday fruit cakes and gift them to family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 23, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ed Hunker officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
