Donna Garn
Donna R. Garn, 90, of Carey, died at 8:10 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019, at Fox Run Manor in Findlay.
Born April 10, 1929, in Salyersville, Ky., she was the daughter of Newel and Alma (Burgett) Craft. She married Joseph Carey Garn on Nov. 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 1994.
Surviving are three children, Penny Tong of Carey, Thomas (Cheryl) Garn of Estero, Fla., and Mark (Kate) Garn of Carey; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Tong, Ashley Fry, Andrea Collier and Nikkole Logan; five great-grandchildren, Kahle, Zaiden, Rylie, Aria and Kian; and son-in-law, Karl Reese of Carey.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Paul Craft; a sister, Glenna Beasley; and an infant brother, Larry Craft.
Donna retired from Westinghouse/A.O. Smith after 36 years of service. She later worked at the Shrine Cafeteria in Carey for several years. She was known for her homemade macaroni and potato salads.
She was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation and the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Eagles Aerie 2198, VFW 3759 and American Legion 344 Auxiliaries, all in Carey.
Donna loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Merrill, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey.
