Jane Frye
Jane E. Frye, 85, of Findlay and formerly of Carey, died at 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Taylor Place in Findlay surrounded by her family.
Born Oct. 4, 1933 in Denver, Ind., she was the daughter of Carroll and Fern Gay (Tull) Weideman. She married Max A. Frye on Dec, 23, 1955, in Bunker Hill, Ind. Max preceded her in death on March 9, 2017.
She is survived by three children, Teresa J. (Ron) Lamb and James A. (Leslie) Frye, both of Findlay, and Sherri A. Frye of North Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, Fletcher L. Williams and twins, Lacy L. Frye and Lyssa R. (Joseph) Shively; two great-grandchildren, Lexi M. Skaggs and Jacob A. Shively; a sister, Martha Love, and a brother, Robert Weideman, both of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Warren, Harry, Ralph, Jack and William Weideman; and six sisters, June Hight, Clara Miller, Alice Long, Annabelle Heltsey Primrose Weideman and Esther Hodson.
A 1951 graduate of Peru High School in Indiana, Jane was a homemaker. She worked at Square D in Peru before she and Max moved to Carey in 1960. She spent many years working for Lois Kurtz at Kurtz Shoe Store in Carey. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Kappa Delta Phi sorority, both in Carey.
Jane loved her family, especially her grandchildren. They always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed crafting and working bazaars at the church. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, playing scrabble and card games.
Friends were scheduled to be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
Her funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home with the Rev. James Sharrett officiating. Burial will take place in Spring Grove Cemetery at a later date.
