Nannette Bodart

Nannette K. “Nan” Bodart, 89, of Fostoria, passed away at 12:35 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Tiffin to the late Cyril C. and Marguerite L. (Miller) Simonis Sr. She married Raymond Joseph Bodart Feb. 4, 1950, at Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and he preceded her in death July 8, 2001.
Surviving are seven children, Jeana Kathleen Bodart SFCC, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Stephen M. (Jackie) Bodart, Fostoria; Ronald W. (Barb) Bodart, Fredericktown; David J. (Becky) Bodart, Cary, N.C.; Gerald P. “Jerry” Bodart, Naples, Fla.; Robert A. (Sue) Bodart, Fostoria; and Susan M. (Randy) Arnold, Jefferson City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Nan was also preceded in death by daughter, Jeanne Marie Bodart (1954); two sisters, Janet Rose Simonis and Yvonne Marie Hess; and two brothers, Cyril C. Simonis Jr. and William F. Simonis.
Nan was a 1948 graduate of St. Ursula Academy, Toledo. She is a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She had also been the coordinator of the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio and member of the Seneca Genealogical Society.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Hoening and Son Funeral Home, Fostoria, with a Christian wake service held at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer presiding. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Parish Hall. Burial will be held at St. Wendelin Cemetery, Fostoria, at a later date.
