Martin Turnbell

Martin R. “Marty” Turnbell, 45, of Carey, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Cleveland Clinic.
Born on May 21, 1974, in Upper Sandusky, Marty was the son of the late Cecil “Tim” and Sheila (Plott) Turnbell.
He married Kandi S. Kloeppel on Oct. 21, 2000, at College First Church of God, Findlay. She survives in Carey.
Also surviving are their three children, Zachary L. Turnbell, Carey; Jacob R. Turnbell and Emma S. Turnbell, both at home; and a sister, Jana Turnbell Pelton, Carey.
Marty was a 1992 graduate of Carey High School. Upon graduating, he joined the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne.
He worked maintenance at Kohl’s Distribution in Findlay for the past five years. He was a contractor for Baker Installations prior to working at Kohls Distribution.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, working on his ’53 Chevy and spending time with his family, especially coaching all the sports his children played. Due to his disability, he was able to spend the last year with his family. He was an avid Buckeyes fan.
Marty deserves a beautiful tribute. However, in this unknown time of COVID-19 pandemic, a public visitation may not be in your best health interest.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Military representation will be present to honor his service to our country.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor’s choice and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
