Rosemary Marshall

Rosemary Kay Marshall, 81, of Alvada, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Birchaven Village in Findlay with her family by her side.
Born May 18, 1939, near Cardington, she was the daughter of Glen Ora and Mildred I (Cox) McCarley. She married Delbert Marshall on June 2, 1956, and he survives. Rosemary is also survived by two children: Sheryl (Brian) Bapiste of Waikoloa, Hawaii, and Tony (Jeanette) Marshall of Alvada; six grandchildren: Christopher, Michelle, Rachel, Jonathan, Alyssa and Joshua and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Roxanne Lemire; three half-sisters: Mary, Thelma and Helen; and two half-brothers: Gerald and Kenneth.
A 1957 graduate of Carey High School, she was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the Marshall family farm. She was farming before women were farmers.
Rosemary loved her family, reading her Bible and tending to her grandbabies. She tended to others’ babies as well as being a nursery care provider at Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky, where she and Delbert have been members for over 20 years. She was a member of the Vanlue High School Band Boosters for years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed freezing and canning her harvest. Her green thumb extended to her flower gardens. She also enjoyed sewing her personal wardrobe and knitting and crocheting sweaters and afghans for family and friends. When not doing for her family, she loved to travel and see new things. She traveled to all 50 states and 20 countries throughout her life.
The service and visitation will be private at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. The public is invited to a 3 p.m. graveside service on Tuesday, June 2, at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Alvada, with the Rev. Bill Williamson officiating.
