Schane Schafer

Schane E. Schafer, 47, passed away at his residence in Florida on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020.
He was born on May 19, 1973, in Findlay, Ohio to Steven and Dianne S. (Dukes) Schafer.
He left behind many family members and friends who will miss his “Happy” personality. Many knew him by the name “Happy”. He loved motorcycles and feeling the wind in his face. He was a 1991 graduate of Cory Rawson High School. Schane was a big supporter of Toys for Tots, MDA, Make-a-Wish and reaching out to friends in need. He organized many fund-raisers over the years. Schane had a talent for advertising. He worked at TV 47, WKXA and The Granary. His love for motorcycles led him to start Happy Trailz Bike Shop. He had been the president of ABATE of Ohio, Region 14.
Schane was preceded in death by his father, Steve. He was previously married on June 22, 1996, to Michelle (Blair) Schafer from Carey. He is also survived by his mother, Dianne of Mt. Cory; son, William “Willie” Schafer of Carey; brother, Andrew (Amy) Schafer of Columbus Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. Private funeral services will be held later for the family.
Memorials may be given to Toys for Tots or the Carey Football Program in his memory.
