Edward Vincent

Edward W. “Chief” Vincent, 83, of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as a result of COVID-19, with his great-granddaughter, Anna Vogel, holding his hand.
He was born July 19, 1937, in Mississauga Outpost, Ontario, Canada, to the late Napoleon and Loretta (Proulx) Vincent.
Chief was home schooled to learn many trades…woodworking, building birch wood canoes, tribal drums and living off the land. An all around outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and camping.
In 1954 he married Joan Fisher and they were divorced. Out of the marriage he had two sons, Robert and Ronnie Vincent and a daughter, Patricica Hudyma, who all survive in Canada.
Chief moved to the U.S. in 1972. He met the love of his life and married Gearldean (Berkheimer) Mullen, and she survives in Upper Sandusky. He is also survived by his bonus daughter, Linda Powers of Carey and bonus daughter-in-law, Betty St. Clair of Wharton; nine grandchildren, Edward (Elizabeth) Spradlin and Eddie (Terri) St. Clair. of Bucyrus, Allen J. (Tammy Shope) St. Clair Jr. of Nevada, Michael (Tracy Wilson) St. Clair of Forest, Allen D. (Crystal Boutt) St. Clair of Upper Sandusky, Bryan (Abby) Powers, Jody Powers, Jason (Abbe) St. Clair and Sheri Ann (Bill Adkins) St. Clair, all of Carey; 16 great-grandchildren, one he helped raise, Dustin St. Clair, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elaine Vincent; bonus son, Allen St. Clair; bonus son-in-law, Richard (Dick) Powers; and a great-grandson, Ryan St. Clair.
Currently the family is delaying service due to COVID-19. They plan on having a graveside service and a celebration of life at a later date.
