Carla Stevens
Carla Diane Stevens, who was born at home in Carey on June 11, 1948, to Carl and Flossie Musgrave, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, in her home with family by her side. Carla graduated from Riverdale High School in 1966. She had two children, Terry Allen Nordyke and Chad Eugene Nordyke. Carla was a hard worker and worked as a waitress at L&K restaurants and also at Whirlpool Corporation where she later retired. Upon retirement she moved to Weirsdale, Fla., creating new friendships as she always did along the way. She could out fish most people and loved to have a line in the water.
She was a lifelong Buckeye and Blue Devil fan. She enjoyed all sports her children and grandchildren played and often was present at every event she could attend. She cheered for the Blue Devil “kids” with an enthusiasm that everyone could hear. She loved watching football in particular. She was a favorite aunt to many nephews and nieces and showed love to all. Her ability to live life with joy and love will be missed deeply by those she touched.
She is preceded in death by her father Carl and her mother Flossie and one brother, Carl Allen Musgrave.
She is survived by five brothers, Clyde, George, Ronnie, Jim and Paul; her two sons, Terry (Heidi) Nordyke and Chad (Brook) Nordyke; one step-daughter, Samantha Stevens; and seven grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Natasha, Levi, Terry, Diana and Carly; and six great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.
“Goodnight, love you, see you in the morning.” Love you most mom.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the Carey Athletic Boosters in Carla’s name.
