Wayne Crutcher

Wayne R. Crutcher, 63, of Carey, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Born on June 28, 1957, in Silver City, N.M., he was the son of the late Charles and Norma Jean (Sartin) Crutcher.
Wayne married Marilyn S. Doyal on May 23, 1981, in Roswell, N.M. She survives in Carey.
Also surviving are their three daughters, Cayla (Greg) Brown, Madisonville, Texas; April (Josh) Glover, Richmond, Texas; and Tamara Crutcher, Webster, Texas; three grandchildren, Cadence Brown, Matthew Brown and Josiah Glover; a brother, Charles (Marlene) Crutcher, West Jordan, Utah; a brother-in-law, Claude Mitchell, Seabrook, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Mitchell.
Wayne was a chemical engineer with APTIM, Findlay. He was involved with Anthrax clean-ups at the post offices in New Jersey and Washington D.C. His last project was the decommissioning of the U.S.S. Sturgis in Galveston, Texas.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Carey.
Wayne was a Girl Scout Leader for 15 years; involved with Carey Music Boosters and coached his girls in the Carey Soccer Club. He loved hosting cast parties for his daughters’ musicals and plays. He enjoyed woodworking and building things, like his parents home. Most important was spending time with his family.
Visitation was scheduled to be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 5-8 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. A memorial service will be Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 2  p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, with the Rev. Loran Miracle and the Rev. James Sharrett officiating.
A mask and social distancing will be required at visitation and service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of donor’s choice and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
