Roger Schlack

Roger Stephen Schlack, 67, of Carey, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, from injuries resulting from an automobile accident.
Born in Tiffin on Oct. 4, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert L. “Forty” and Genevieve G. (McDermott) Schlack.
Steve married Lana (Denney) Naeyert on March 11, 2016. She survives in Carey.
Surviving are two daughters, Sonja Bauers, Blanchester; and Stephanie (Kevin) Clark, Loveland; two grandsons, Austin Bullock and Kason McDaniel; two step-sons, Jack Naeyert, Florida; and Alex Naeyert, Carey; a step-daughter, Denise Schwer; step-grandson, Bruin Garza; and five siblings, Michael Schlack, Dawn Holsinger, Kevin Schlack and Heather Davidson, all of Carey; and Robert “Duke” Schlack, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jo McLaughlin, and a brother, Terry Schlack.
A 1971 graduate of Carey High School, he retired from Mel’s Auto Glass in Sharonville and was currently working part time at Houk Hardware in Carey.
Steve was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, target shooting and cutting wood. He was a member of the Carey Masonic Bodies.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, from 5-8 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cynthia Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
