Harold McDermott Jr.

Harold P. McDermott Jr., 59, of Sycamore, died at 7:21 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb, 24, 2021, at the Ohio State University East Hospital, Columbus.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1961, in Upper Sandusky, to Harold P. and Alice (Kessler) McDermott Sr. His father died in 2013 and his mother survives in rural Sycamore. He married Jeannie (Daniel) McDermott on Jan. 8, 1996, after celebrating 25 years of marriage. She survives in rural Sycamore.
Also surviving are a daughter, Sabrina McDermott and fiance Steven Serbinski, Ada; a son, Robert McDermott, rural Sycamore; and one brother, Jeff McDermott, Carey.
Harold enjoyed farming, also worked for 12 years for Caliber Auto Transfer, Fostoria, and also at one time worked for Lininger Farms. He was a 1979 graduate of Mohawk High School and a member of the Mohawk Young Farmers.
For hobbies Harold loved to attend auctions and flea markets, cut and sell firewood, loved to do woodworking and do handyman projects for other people and also loved to just tinker in his shed.
A celebration of life service for Harold will be held at a later date.
