Roberta Yonts

Roberta Joyce Yonts, 50, of Carey, went to be with her Lord and savior at 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, with her family by her side.
Born Sept. 8, 1970, in Idaho, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Berry J. (Sockwell) Russell Aleshire. She married Steven R. Yonts Sr. on Dec. 4, 1986. He survives in Carey. She is also survived by her step-father, Dorsel Russell of Carey.
Roberta graduated from Tiffin Hair Academy, but chose to be a stay-at-home mom for her eight children and four step-children. She is survived by six children: Tashawa (Timothy) Hall of Carey, Casey Brubaker of Tiffin, Tabitha (Trae) Cusac of Carey, Tiffany Yonts of Carey, Desiray Fortune of Bloomville, Steven (Chelsey) Yonts Jr. of Carey and Austin (Eriel) Yonts of Carey; two step-children: Kylie Estep of Sarasosta, Fla. and Cody (Emily) Yonts of Ada, 40-plus grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Ashley Yonts of Bloomville. Also surviving are a sister, Teresa Behrens of Belle Center, brother-in-law, Charles Amburgey of Nevada; two sisters-in-law, Sally (David) Watts of Beaverdam, Ky. and Illa Scott of Blackie, Ky.; father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Tammie Yonts of Blackie, Ky. and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Tommy Yonts; two step-sons, Craig Landrum and James Yonts; a grandson, James Logan Yonts Jr.; two brothers: Lonnie Russell and Tony Hoop; and mother-in-law, Glenda Collins.
Roberta kept active and enjoyed going to Happy Days Nutrition in Tiffin. The two things she loved most in life were her family and God. She attended Harvest Time Chapel in Vanlue. Family was everything to her and cherished her time camping at Carey Conservation Club near Carey with her entire family.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Monday, April 26, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
Roberta’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bloomville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
