William Griswold

William “Bill” E. Griswold, 69, passed away peacefully at 6:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at his home in Upper Sandusky.
Bill was born on Oct. 10, 1951, in Tiffin, to Edward and Mary Alice (Lucas) Griswold and they preceded him in death. He married Deb Boes on Nov. 28, 1975, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky and she survives.
Bill is also survived by his son, Cory (Anna) Griswold of Upper Sandusky; his daughter, Dawn (Kurt O’Flaherty) Griswold of Carey; four grandchildren, Olivia, Bailey, Katie and Wyatt; along with three brothers, Tom Griswold, Alan Griswold and Mark (Karen) Griswold, all of Upper Sandusky.
Bill graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1970 and went on to work at Engineered Wire Products for 42 years until he retired in 2014.
He was the former union steward for Teamsters Local 40, a member of the Wyandot County Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Wyandot Classics and Cruisers. Bill loved spending time with his family and enjoyed spending the past two winters in Florida. He also enjoyed going to car shows, fishing, following the Detroit Tigers and the Ohio State Buckeyes and playing push rummy with friends (family) in the Kuenzli home.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and will be officiated by the Rev. Betsy Bowen and the Rev. Cynthia Morrison. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, June 23, from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Wyandot Memorial Hospital or Crawford United Methodist Church and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home at 476 S. Sandusky Avenue, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
