Paul Snyder Sr.

Paul F. Snyder Sr., 73 of Sycamore, died at 12:02 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at home.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1947, in Bucyrus, to Byron and Ada Mae (Dawson) Snyder. He first married Karen (Shock) Clinger and they later divorced. She survives in Carey. Paul then married Jana (Meacham) Snyder on Jan. 14, 1978, and she survives.
Surviving are the following children, Paul (Barbara) Snyder Jr., Findlay, Elizabeth (Kevin) Steen, Carey, and Ben Snyder, Upper Sandusky. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Angela Wyatt and Shelby Snyder, plus two great-grandsons, Bo and Duke Wyatt. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry (Deanna) Snyder, Harvielle, Mo., and David (Mickey) Snyder, Johnson City, Tenn., plus one sister, Mary Lieb, Norwalk. Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Smetzler; grandson, Ryan Smetzler; and a sister, Patsy Valentine.
Paul was a tree trimmer for Bill Sowers Tree Service, Sycamore, for 34 years. He was a 1966 graduate of Mohawk High School, attended the Sycamore United Methodist Church and was a former volunteer fireman for the Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department.
For hobbies Paul loved to fish, build miniature doll houses, loved animal shows on TV, loved to watch Dale Earnhardt race and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Miami Dolphins.
Funeral services for Paul will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Amy Vittorio officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
