She was born on Dec. 11, 1928, in Vanlue, to Fred and Carolyn (Hunter) Hendricks. She married Kenneth C. Nye on June 18, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1994.

Marcella’s love of Vanlue started at birth, continued through her graduation from Vanlue High School in 1946 and beyond. She and Kenny raised the boys in Vanlue and she was very involved with the village throughout the years. When she wasn’t working as a secretary at Vanlue Grain and Supply, Beck’s Tile or spending 20 years as secretary/treasurer of Vanlue Local Schools, she was volunteering within the village. Volunteering, whether it was the Vanlue Boosters Club, V.C.O. or Vanlue Garden Club, kept her busy. She was a member of the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey and was member of the CLC for years.
Marcella and Kenny loved traveling throughout the United States, as well as perch fishing, camping and boating at Lake Erie. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her friends.
