Ralph Kirian

Ralph Cyril Kirian, 90, of New Riegel, passed away peacefully at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 9, 1931, in New Riegel to Clifford and Philomena (Reinhart) Kirian. He married the love of his life, Patricia Updegraff, Feb. 14, 1953, at Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, and she died Sept. 4, 2005.
Survivors include four daughters, Laura Swing of Bowling Green, Linda Kirian of New Riegel, Jodie Kirian of Findlay, and Deborah (Ralph) Miller of Fostoria; five grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Gerschutz, Danielle (Darin) Reinhart, Shelby Benavides, Adam (Amy) Miller, Ryan (Taylor) Miller; 13 great-grandchildren, Noah, Andrew, Haley, Ethan, Jacob, Gavin, Aidan, Greyson, Cooper, Brock, Emma Jane, Ava, Corbin and one on the way; and a brother-in-law, Lew Tish, of Bucyrus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Joe (Joan) Kirian, Jim (Joan) Kirian; three sisters, Millie (Bob) Depinet, Rosie (Dick) Depinet and Clarie (Neil) Krebs-Tish.
Ralph was a member of All Saints Parish, formerly St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown. His greatest joys came from spending time with his family, taking vacations and long rides on his golf cart “Sadie.” He spent countless hours sitting on his swing catching up with neighbors and admiring his beloved farm – to which he never fully retired. He enjoyed a big win at the casino and a few games of cards.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, followed by the funeral mass at 11 a.m. The Rev. Timothy Kummerer will officiate. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Frenchtown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude Research Hospital.
