Mary Blair

Mary Louise Blair, 76, of Carey, passed away at 9:26 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay with family by her side.
Born Jan. 28, 1945, in Carey, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hulda (Kentfield) Bentz. She married William Blair and they were divorced.
Mary is survived by four children: Terry (Michelle) Kniceley of Mansfield, Patrick (April Pfeiffer) Blair of Carey, Traci (Aaron) Hoepf of Carey and Michelle Schafer of Carey; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Gary Kniceley; a great-grandchild; and three sisters: Joan Thompson, Laura Ruffing and Barbara Eddington.
Mary attended Carey High School and retired from Budd Co. in Carey. She had also worked at Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky.
She was a life member of the Eagles Aerie 2198 and a member of Our Lady of Consolation, both in Carey.
Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting and loved her cats. Anyone who knew Mary always knew where they stood. She called a spade a spade.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the funeral home with the Rev. Toby Risner officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
