Nancy Shaffer
Nancy Shaffer, 72, of Findlay, passed away at 11:01 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay with her husband by her side.
Born March 31, 1949, in Kenton, she was the daughter of Karl H. and Ruth E. (Kimmel) Kemmerly. Thanks to mutual friends, she was introduced to a young man from Carey, Ronald D. Shaffer. On June 26, 1971, she married Ron at Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. Ron survives in Findlay. She is also survived by two children, Ryan (Connie) Shaffer of Hamler and Tracey (John) Mahler of Fostoria; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Donald, Norman and Gerald Kemmerly.
Nancy graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1967. She worked at Brindle’s Furniture in Findlay for several years, but most will remember her for the many years she spent at Meijer’s in Findlay.
Nancy was a Girl Scout leader for several years while her daughter was involved. She enjoyed playing games of chance and always looked forward to her and Ron’s trips to Las Vegas.
Her number one focus was her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. Nothing better than spoiling the little ones.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
A graveside service will follow on Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey, with the Rev. William Schultz officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice and sent to the funeral home.
