Rex Huston

Rex Huston, 98, of Birchaven Village, Findlay, and formerly from Carey, died at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Birchaven.
He was born on Jan. 12, 1924, in Carey, to Vernon H. and Mary B. (Cole) Huston. They are deceased. He married Marilyn J. Shane on Sept. 11, 1949, and she died Aug. 4, 2016. There was one daughter, Candace Huston, who is also deceased.
His brothers are as follows: Dr. T.R. Huston, deceased. Dr. V.H. Huston of Findlay, Judson A. Huston of Tyler Texas, and Clarence L. Huston, deceased. Clarence was killed at the Battle of the Buldge.
Rex was a graduate of the Ohio Weslyan University in 1948 in business administration. He was in the Delta Ian Delta fraternity. Rex was in the Army Air Corps, 380th B. Squadron, 310th B. GP, flew 77 missions, received air medal with six oak leaf clusters. Rex was formerly the president of the Carey Jaycees. He was in the American Legion and a charter member of the V.F.W. Rex was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Carey, for over 65 years. He was part owner and operator of the former Huston Lumber and Ready-Mix Co., Carey.
Visitation was held May 22 at Beach Funeral Home, Carey. Private graveside rites for family will be held Monday, May 23, at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey. The Rev. Jim Sharrett and the Rev. Loran Miracle will officiate. The Carey American Legion Post 344 did the military service at the cemetery.
