Richard Snook

Richard L. Snook, 86, of Carey, passed away peacefully at 6:25 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at the Inn at Westbrook in Upper Sandusky, with his family by his side.
Born April 18, 1936, in Carey, he was the son of Richard L. and Edith (Myers) Snook Sr. He married Patricia L. Orians on Jan. 26, 1957, at Our Lady of Consolation in Carey.
Dick graduated from Carey High School in 1954. Most of Carey will remember Dick as their insurance guy. He spent 25 years working as an agent for Western and Southern Insurance Company. Many families in the Carey area were fortunate to have him as their agent. He retired from the company in 2000.
Dick and Pat spent many hours sitting on bleachers watching their children and, later, grandchildren participate in all sorts of athletic events and school programs. They were very proud of each one of them. Dick also enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports team, which included the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball.
Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat; two sons, Steven (Lisa) Snook of Findlay and Randy Snook of Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren, Amber, Chanelle, Anthony and Aaron; four great-grandchildren: Kiara, Kaylee, Bryce and Emma; many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Robison and a brother, Jeff Snook.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. Dick’s funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, with Friar Savio Manavala, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Council on Aging or Hospice of Wyandot County and sent to the funeral home.
