Marcella Molyet

What mom saw with eyes wide open took her breath away on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. Marcella “Sally” Molyet, 94, of Fremont, leaped into the arms of Jesus and her beloved husband, Norbert, at Valley View Health Campus. Family members were present to witness this sacred moment of eternal union.
Sally was born March 24, 1928, in Carey, the daughter of Leo and Francis Brodman. As the tenth child of 12 children, she was nurtured by the love of family and was immersed in a strong Catholic faith tradition that she cherished.
On Oct. 2, 1954, she married Norbert Molyet at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2021, after 67 years of marriage.
Surviving are her children: Sr. Anne Mary Molyet, SND; Giles (Anne Karcher) Molyet, Sonya (Rick) Ruppel, Regina “Jean” (Dave) Spader and Robert (Darcy Hansen) Molyet. Sally and Norbert loved their grandchildren: Jason Seikel, Josh (Laura) Seikel, Jackie (A.J.) Coleman, Krista (Johnny) Hair, Tom Spader, Cody Molyet, Desi (Austin Fegly) Molyet, Justin Solis and Jon Solis. Also cherished are 16 great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two siblings: Sr. Donna Louise Brodman, O.P. and Delores (Norbert) Mathias of Tiffin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; parents; and siblings: Rose (Leon) Mathias, Mary (Bernard) Loverich, Isabelle Brodman, Herman (Margaret) Brodman, Leonard (Elizabeth) Brodman, Louis Brodman, Bernard (Nancy) Brodman and Leo “Bud” (Anne) Brodman.
Sally was a charter member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She participated in many courses offered in religious education centers after Vatican II. She had a passion for learning about her faith and embraced the spirit of Vatican II. Sally taught CCD for many years and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a founder of Heartbeat of Fremont. She and Norbert were active participants in parish faith-sharing groups throughout their married life.
Visitation was held Dec. 21 at Herman-Veh Funeral Home and Crematory, Gibsonburg, where a scripture service was held. A mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont. The Rev. Mark Herzog will preside along with the Rev. Krzysztof Kardzis, the Rev. Frank Kehres, the Rev. Herb Weber and the Rev. Jeff McBeth. Additional visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
