Judy Secoy
Judy Joy (Grady) Secoy passed into eternity in the early hours of Friday, Jan. 27, 2023.
She spent her life devoted to her husband Larry Secoy, Upper Sandusky; her children, Christopher (Sherry) Secoy, Bolivar; Spencer (Christine) Secoy, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Jacqueline (Shawn Ritorto) Secoy, Charlottesville, Va.; in addition to being a devoted grandmother to Kathryn and Lauren Secoy, Bolivar. She was also aunt and great-aunt to many more. Her compassion and patience were boundless, as recognized by all who knew and loved her.
She was born in Smithville, to Ralph and Ikena (Miller) Grady. She graduated from Sycamore High School in 1963 and received her bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg University in English with a Latin emphasis in 1967. Later in life she worked at the Daily Chief-Union as a proofreader and she was a teacher’s aide at New Riegel schools. She enjoyed flowers, especially daffodils as they are one of the first of spring, writing poetry, listening to her family play music, going to the beach and listening to the waves, being in the mountains, above all things, loved writing and receiving letters in the mail.
A celebration of life gathering will be hosted on Saturday, March 4, at Camp Trinity, 8812 CH 50, Upper Sandusky, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. We believe she would also love and encourage you to write a letter of your own and send it to a loved one. Her love lives on in all of us.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mohawk Community Library or the donors choice in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 350, Sycamore, OH 44882. Online expressions of sympathy can be made at waltonmoorefuneralhome.com.
